Roseburg Oregon
Roseburg Oregon, is what I call the weather sweet spot for our state. You go north you get more rain/grey clouds/less sunshine, you go south, more desert-like, east…. Even more desert-like (and ugly scenery IMO), west, well that’s obviously the coast which if you like great, I don’t. I’ve lived all over Oregon; Roseburg area of course, Bend, Medford, Portland area, the coast…. Other than somewhere tropical, this is where I’d want to be.
There is great importance in one’s commute to work and back daily. In Roseburg, everything is 5-10 minutes away and you don’t have the traffic of the big cities. Yet we still have some large/convenient stores like Costco, Wal Mart, Marshal’s, Fred Meyer, Safeway, Albertsons, etc. Also for a small town there are a lot of restaurants with good food, both locally owned and franchises. We have many vineyards; many refer to Roseburg as the new Napa Valley. Wineries such as: Cooper Ridge, Abacela, Melrose, Delfino, Hillcrest, and many more.
Scenery & recreation…. That is another fantastic feature of the area. An abundance of mountains, trees, rivers, and many other types of foliage. Do you like fishing? Hunting? Hiking? Camping? Enjoy the scenery doing all those things, there are loads of options. Some of the most beautiful hiking trails in the world and plenty of places to fish. If you want to play in the snow, take a quick drive up to Diamond Lake! If you want to go to a lake, well there’s also Diamond Lake and several other lakes around that area, Dorena is only an hour north as well. If you want to go to the coast to view the ocean, play on the beach, catch some crab…. only a 1.5-hour drive to the west.
