Galveston Texas

Also known as Galveston, island city

Galveston is a great place to live thanks to its natural beauty, miles of beaches, vibrant downtown, superior restaurants and attractions, high-quality housing, and a diverse welcoming community.

The history, beautiful natural features and people who live here are just some of the things that make island life so special. When finding your own place in the sun you need to work with a company that has superior local knowledge about everything that makes Galveston what it is. I love helping people find their dream home in Galveston so they can enjoy our beautiful Island. I always say those of us lucky enough to live by the sea, are lucky enough!

I have owned property in Galveston since 1987 and became a full time resident in 2001. There are so many wonderful things about living here and it appeals to so many different people. There are 32 miles of beach for people who love swimming, surfing, fishing, and beachcombing. We have incredible parks, reserves and organizations such as the Galveston Island Nature Tourism Council and The Artist Boat that provide all kinds of birding, nature and other ecotourism adventures.

For people who like to eat out we have everything from fine dining restaurants and casual cafes to family-friendly diners and food carts. Galveston has a thriving arts scene with many galleries showing work from local artists. We also have our own Symphony, Ballet, Orchestra, and a number of theaters from Equity to community hosting local, national, and international performers. For family fun there is a Children’s Museum, Moody Gardens, Pleasure Pier and Schlitterbahn Waterpark.

From a commercial point of view, we are a city of entrepreneurial small businesses anchored by larger businesses including UTMB, Landry’s, American National Insurance, Texas A & M Galveston, and others.

History is important to many of us who live in Galveston and we have many incredible historic buildings from when the city was first thriving in the 1800’s. Organizations such as The Bryan Museum and the Galveston Historical Foundation help bring our history alive and organize many wonderful events including the annual Historic Homes Tour and the Dickens on the Strand festival. I’m proud to serve on the current board of the Galveston Historical Foundation and to be a former President of the organization.

In terms of real estate, Galveston is again blessed with an incredible range of high quality housing options. If coastal living is your preference you can choose from modern beach houses with all the amenities to more modest cottages. For historic homes there are magnificent Victorian homes with incredible architectural features and more modest charming cottages. We also have comfortable brick homes for family living, condominiums for people wanting a more compact living space and then there are downtown lofts for those who want to walk to everything. New, old, large, or small we really do have something for everyone.

I love giving back to Galveston and each year support more than 50 community organizations. I hold leadership positions on many community and civic organizations as I believe it is important to give your time and expertise to your community.
